I had similar errors with ONE particular kind of media

I searched the first few lines of your error on google.
Indication is to run as root while burning. It wouldnt be a good permanent solution but might get you going.

Good luck,

I have a major problem writing CDs under SuSE 9.2.
It has been discussed here:
http://www.ale.org/archive/ale/ale-2.../msg00861.html
http://lists.debian.org/debian-kerne.../msg00303.html

Apparently the only solution is to wait until a 2.6.9 kernel is released by SuSE . But some people have found a "work around" - is this simply burning as root? Because that doesnt work for me

linux:/home/george # uname -a

I had this problem with CD-RW disks, even new ones. I wasn't able to write to *some* of them until I did a full erase on a different CD drive (different computer). Other CD-RWs work fine. CD-R seems to work fine also.
