k3b - hangs after reading source but completes burn
 

Slackware 12 was recently installed with 'k3b 1.0.1' installed.

Attempting to copy a DVD resulted in a working copy but k3b locked at the point where it had read the 'source' but not started to 'copy'. After disk activity had stopped the program could be closed after acknowledging that k3b was no longer responding. The copy appears to be fully operational.

k3b was upgraded to 1.0.3 and then to 1.0.4 but a further DVD copy gave the same results.

Any further details required to provide a solution?

K3b is a front-end using cdrecord, wodim, growisofs... for its actual work (burning) -- look in the options or setup tab.

You might try to update rather those programs, I'd guess K3b hangs somewhere in there.
