k.. shockingly dumb question

i'm trying to do a ftp install of fedora core 3, from the site in the mirror list... but everything i put in the

FTP site name:
fedora core directory:

fields doesn't work. it doesn't give an error.. it just goes back to the same screen over and over.

Perhaps some more information would help:

What system are you on now?
Which FTP client are you using?
What kind of FTP access were you attempting?

How were you intending to do a "FTP install?" (Were you attempting to mount the FTP site and execute something? Or just copy some files [or ISO images] to build instalation CDs or DVD?)
