Just installed XFCE - question on error message...

Hey guys, I'm fairly new to Linux and am currently experimenting with an FC3 install. All is working well, although I was getting weary of KDE so I decided to install xfce instead based on some good things I read about it. I installed it via rpm's, using Fedora's GUI tool to install RPM's. All went fine, and now I'm runnning xfce smoothly with one exception.
When running certain processes from the command line, I often see this error message:

"Session management error. Authentication rejected, reason: None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host based authentication failed."

Any ideas what this could mean?? I don't *think* it's necessarily causing any harm, but nevertheless I'd like to know what's causing it. Thanks!!!

I get that error on my Gentoo box when I run things as root from the command line in the environment of a non-priveleged user.

If the app still launches I'd assume it's fairly safe to ignore it.

Thanks, I guess I'm not too concerned about it but it is a little disconcerting. Come to think of it, I do only see it when running things as root from a shell. Hmmm...

Yeah, I think the DCOP server doesn't like requests from a different user or something. On my Kanotix system that would totally stop a program running.

Glad I could help.
