just installed RH8... my GTS driver is using "nvidia gts (generic)" in linux........

You need to install the nvidia linux driver to get 3d hardware acceleration, the instructions are in the README, I recomend you print a copy for reference during the install.

I would recommend you read them twice.:) I have installed them 5 times on 5 machines, and it is very easy and straighforward, however, follow the instructions to the LETTER. (i.e. don't forget to change your XF86Config). Also, I always use the 'Upgrading from RPM procedure' INSTEAD of the 'Install from RPM', since it works whether the RPMs pre-exist or not.

Can't stress any more strongly, follow instructiosn to the letter.

Also, before the upgrade, open a console and enter
glxgears

After 20 seconds, write down the average speed. I went from ~550 to 7000 fps. :)

hehhe... i ruined my RH8 yesterday coz of those nvidia drivers lol.... my X**config files were doomed.. lolz..
ill try upgrading it by rpm... thank you..
are the drivers on the nvidia website different from the "generic drivers that comes from RH8"?

Yes, the drivers from the nvidia site are proprietary 'hogh octane 3d enabled' drivers.
