Just installed Linux
Well, I'm finally taking the plunge to learn Linux and hope to learn enough about it and feel comfortable to make Windows my alternative OS.
I was given a copy of SuSE 7.3 professional version and installed it over Windows 98 a couple of days ago. Everything went smoothly, no problems. I am currently booting Linux off a floppy until I figure out hope to do it of the harddrive. Just looking around Linux though, it is pretty obvious I will have to do a bit of reading up on Linux operating system. Since, I am totally new to the point that I had never seen Linux before (any version), are there any good/popular beginner's books on Linux that anyone can recommend. Thanks Rob |
try running linux
"Running Linux" is a really good book to use when first starting Linux. I have heard some really good things about it. But I would say that "Running Linux" will get you started off.
