just a few simple questions
 
ok I've got a few questions

1. is it possible to enter the bios setup in windows xp without rebooting the machine

2. is it possible to install opensuse 11.1 without partitioning the hard drive (I know it is in ubuntu with wubi)

3. what is the command to look at my bios settings in linux

With some BIOSes, maybe. Some business-oriented vPro branded laptops may allow changes to some BIOS settings.

Look at something like VirtualBox ... http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Guest_OSes

What specific settings are you looking for? Generally, you won't be able to access a setting like "Enable boot from USB device" or something like that, but you may be able to find out what temperature or throttling your CPU is running at. The files in the sys directory are special this way.

well I hope I have my vocabulary correct but well damn I'm gonna sound like a complete idiot when I say this but I mean the screen that pops up right after you log out(in opensuse)it goes by so quick I can't read it...I don't think I mean bios...do I?

I am guessing a of lot of message during start up or shutdown is recorded in a log file
See cd /var/log/
Is it this that youŕe looking for

yep that was it it was in the boot log
