JDK Install - Problem Installing

Hello all,

I am trying to do a simple JDK 1.6 install but I get the following errors on my new Fedora Core 9 server:
Code:

Done.

I have no idea whats wrong?

Btw, I don't think I need to worry about alternatives since I have nothing else on this server installed.

Thanks for any help and direction.

Sanity Checks, Who are you running this (the installer) as? looks like your binary is not extracting properly.

I am running as root.

I just went to the Jpackage site to have a look and I read this line:

Code:

Important: Do NOT install the "Linux x64" version of the SDK.
What if I have a Fedora Core 9 (x64bit) version? Which I do, do i need to do anything differently?

Well I managed to install this: jdk-6u11-linux-i586-rpm.bin

Is this a problem for a 64 bit system??

I think I will stick with my orginal statement that the package installer or package itself could have been broken.
