javascript not working

Quite a few sites when I am browsing are saying enable javascript to view page. Javascript is enabled in preferences and noscript is allowed. Is there anything else I need to do. Using Firefox browser.

Quit Firefox.

Start Firefox from a command prompt with

Code:

$ firefox -safe-mode

Check the sites in question. If they're OK then quit Firefox and launch it again as normal. Then start disabling extensions one by one until the sites in question work. Thus you determine which extension is causing the problem.

You could also post the addresses of the sites in question here for other people to try. It's conceivable they're just badly written and don't work properly with Firefox.

I have decided to try opera browser. Up to now no problems. Thanks for your advice.
