I have CentOS, not Fedora, but I believe they're pretty close...
try:

yum install jre

If that doesn't work, try

yum search java

And find the package for the Java Runtime Environment, then do a "yum install" followed by the name of that package.

And what should I do after "yum search" comes back with a package?
Because yum install still wont install that particular package.

I've just tried "yum install jre" and after a quarter of an hour (dial-up!) yum terminated with "nothing to do". Obviously the wrong name!

Firefox was not much more helpful: it reported "JRE available" on the first screen, then "not available" on the next.
