jack kicking

I am experiencing a problem with jack:
I hear pops and I noticed that they are very frequent when running a windows vst from lmms. jack issues a dialog box saying it has kicked the program. Playback is not compromised but it is not a suitable behaviour.
When I run a windows program through wineasio, after some midi input it stops like jack has kicked but no message.
Note: I can hear test sound from my edirol soundcard when tested from winecfg but jack and other programs output through notebook speakers.
Can anyone help?
thanks in advance
