Issue with Oracle10.2.0.5 upgrade

Hi All,

I am trying to upgrade Oracle 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.5 , i am running into rpm upgarde/downgrade issue below is the error -
Checking Recommended glibc version Expected result: ATLEAST=2.3.2-95.27 NOT_EQUALS=2.3.4-2.39

I then tried to install required RPM packages ,and i ran into following error
[root@dev-lab1-db03 ~]# rpm -ivh glibc-2.3.2-95.27.i686.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
glibc-common = 2.3.2-95.27 is needed by glibc-2.3.2-95.27.i686
glibc < 2.3.4 conflicts with glibc-common-2.3.4-2.39.x86_64
[root@dev-lab1-db03 ~]# rpm -ivh glibc-2.3.2-95.27.x86_64.rpm
warning: glibc-2.3.2-95.27.x86_64.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 025e513b
error: Failed dependencies:
glibc-common = 2.3.2-95.27 is needed by glibc-2.3.2-95.27.x86_64

[root@dev-lab1-db03 ~]#

1. recommend you ask Oracle for exact guidelines if the documentation is insiffcient on their website; its a paid product.

2. when using an rpm based Distro, you should use the yum cmd, not the rpm cmd.
yum will automatically take care of the dependencies (where possible) for you
