Angry ISP server not found

I have just installed mandrake 9. Using kppp to connect to freeserve dialup. It worked the first evening but now it connects (dials up, authentcates and time counter starts) but does not let me open a web page or states host not found when retrieve mail.

dns lookup says server not found
pings all fail
but it seems i am actaully connected to freeserve.

anyone with any ideas, i've gone throught the kpp setup again.

Have you got the shorewall firewall running ?
If yes: Connect with kppp
in a console:
shorewall restart
