ISP Logon Fails

Hi,

I am using RH 9, (Dual Boot with XP)

My modem will not complete the handshake with the ISP (tpg.com.au)

I have

1. added the primary and secondary DNS addresses, 203.12.160.35 and .36
2. added the domain name: tpg.com.au

I have left theusername the same as in windows (no @tpg.com.au on the end)
Password is correct.

Modem dials, ISP answers, says "logging on to the network" then times out.

Any clues? Initialisation string?

Thanks

Mo

what are u using as your dial-up manager? try wvdial and if you are using wvdial, try adding this line at the end of /etc/wvdial.conf
Stupid Mode = 1

Sorry. I am using Kppp.

I was successful with Kppp in RH 7.1, so naturally I went with what I knew.

I will try yours and see what happens.

thx
