I am trying to get into Linux, I have been struggling most pleasantly to get Debian Woody installed but kept coming up against a "folder not found" message so gave up and downloaded 5 ISO's of Redhat 7.3 and (thought) I'd extracted them correctly. (The ISO's were downloaded under WinXP, burnt to disk with Nero and extracted using ISOBuster. However, I keep getting a message at the beginning of the install procedure that "no RedHat CD could be found in either of my cd drives".
Any ideas please?????

I don't have a clue what "isobuster" is, but you can burn iso's with Nero alone. Click on the file button and it's something like "Burn image to cd" or something along those lines, click it. It will bring up a search box to locate the .iso image (notice you have to drop down the file-extension to list all files) on your hard drive, then simply burn away.

Do I burn the ISO image to cd and install from that, or, do I extract the files within the ISO and burn them to install from?

Well, you burn the iso image to the cd, but after you do that, place it back in the drive and make sure there are folders and files on it, not a single iso image...

ISO extractor is for copying the contents of the ISO to the H/D and running it from there or modifying the contents. You just burn Linux ISO's directly to cd, do not modify/manipulate them.

Just use EasyCD, Nero, or any of the other ones that support ISO burning.

And, just to re-iterate:
You want to burn a CD of the image, not with the image. If when you open up the cd drive in Explorer you find that there's only 1 file on the cd... the iso file, then you've just made yourself a coaster!
