E-mail travels between servers you have no control over. So unless you have consulted a lawyer to verify the validity of claims in your "disclaimer" plus force use of encrypted messages that authenticate sender and receiver, don't expect anyone to take notice of it. Disclaimers look "official" but have as much value as say yesterdays newspaper. Adding a "disclaimer" (even if it has no value whatsoever) to *all* e-mail is consistent, adding it to some is not. The HOWTO says
Quote:

(..) The resulting system will automatically add disclaimers to outgoing emails.
. So if you want to *not* add it to replies you'll have to muck with the /etc/postfix/disclaimer script. Add the lines

Code:

from_address=`grep -m 1 "From:" in.$$ | cut -d "<" -f 2 | cut -d ">" -f 1`
grep -q -m 1 "^Subject:.*Re:" in.$$ 2>/dev/null; subject_match_re=$?

if [ $subject_match_re -eq 1 ]; then

 if [ `grep -wi ^${from_address}$ ${DISCLAIMER_ADDRESSES}` ]; then
...
 fi
fi

and test if it works. If it works you must send your changes to the HOWTO author or add them as a comment to the HOWTO.

Isn't that just the reply indentation? How did you inspect this? By reading the message as text with say 'less' or in your mailclient?

it is indentation as below after reply

the body text after reply (in recipient's mailbox)

About all e-mail clients render messages according to rules. For instance they indent anything that starts with a (sometimes configurable) "reply" marker. E-mail is basically plain text. So unless your mailclient has an option to show messages without formatting, then saving a message to disk with full headers (or extracting it from the mailbox or file) and using vi, pico, nano, less, more or most to display that message shows what it will *really* look like.
