Is this modem a WinModem?

Is the Agere Systems PCI Soft Modem a true blooded modem that can work with Linux and Mac, or is it a WinModem?

Softmodems are basically the same as winmodems. You will need the driver (if there is one for linux at all).

You can start at You will want to run their scanModem tool to identify exactly what chipset they use on that modem.

I got my winmodem running in Slackware 10. I'm still tweaking it, but it's working.
