is there any tool for recompiling a kernel?

hi All...

I want to recompile a kernel in GUI mode... is there any tool in GUI mode ... to recompile such that we can select the options from list ....it seems to very hard to recompile a kernel because we should be very familiar with the hardware , each and every feature....so is there any tool so that we can select our hardware configuration from the list (from a gui tool) and start recompiling.....its my thought ....is there any information regarding my thought and views...
any help would be appretiate...

thnx in advance....

make xconfig

Read the "Help" files associated with the options, it sometimes mentions the exact hardware it's an option for.

Cool

libranet has a tool that lets u recompile the kernel with a press of a button ;)

you just press recompile kernel from Adminmenu (its control center) then u select the config. then it will take care of the rest
