Is there a way to change from kde to gnome

My Linux is Centos 5.3. During installation I had uncheck Gnome and check Kde for desktop environment.

my regret is that i'm never like Kde coz it's too complicated.

so when I try to reinstall Centos again, it prompt an error saying the packages already installed.

Is there a way to change to Gnome desktop environment?

I use Package Manager and check Gnome and uncheck Kde to install and deinstall the necessary packages but to date I'm still not able to change to Gnome.

any help rendered will be greatly appreciated!

thanks

Not sure how Centos does it but normally on your login screen there is a drop down or button you can press to select an alternate manager.

You shouldn't be "re-installing centos again"; just add the appropriate software.

Err, yes.

So, are you now in the situation that you cannot get into kde? What can you get into? Anything?

Did you try the chooser to choose which to get into at login? What options were there in the 'drop down' menu (if not, when you tried, what did you try and what happened)?

Well I agree there should be a drop down menu in the beginning that should allow you to switch to the GNOME interface. Also, if you do not have many things installed on the system I would just get rid of the old system and reinstall with the GNOME interface. Believe me, I have reinstalled my system so many times because I did not like the way it was looking.
