So, thank you!

You can add podcasts to it that aren't in the list. As long as you know the URL.

I've got a command-line Python podcast subscription downloader which I wrote - I attach it to a cronjob and it downloads the latest from my subscriptions and then e-mails me. Seems easier than having to manually fire up a client to get new podcasts. Message me if you want it

Else yes, I'd use gPodder!

Sorry, I didn't think anybody would be interested

'PodGrab.py -h' for help. Do with it what you will...I only wrote it because I couldn't find anything similar via Google and I have a bit of a fetish for cronjobs

You overestimated my competence, I'm no computer geek, so I have to be content with those wysiwyg programs. So far the gPodder works well, but I'm still very limited concerning the choices. I used to have a dozen or so, but now I was only able to find 6 or 7, including one former iTune U podcasts. Fortunately I have another PC running Windows with iTunes installed (I used to do sync with this laptop).

I gave it up, and it's for real.
The Ubuntu Software Center seems to have some problems still... You could try reinstalling it at the terminal and see if it gives any errors:
Code:
sudo apt-get remove tunesviewer
say yes, remove...
then:
Code:
wget http://sourceforge.net/projects/tunesviewer/files/tunesviewer_1.0.deb
And install it:
Code:
sudo dpkg -i tunesviewer_1.0.deb
And run it:
Code:
tunesviewer
