Is there a children manual/tutorial?

Hello everyone

This is my first time with linux. I've installed Mandrake 10.0. Very friendly, but this is an entirely different world, so is there any kind of method, or tutorials, for the really newcomers (watch my questions)?

Where's the apache document root, in my Mandrake 10.0 distro ????

How come i cant browse the root directory (its locked)?

How can i create other user's?

Sorry everyone

Document root is typically /var/www/htdocs I believe the same with Mandrake. root's directory is locked unless you are logged in as root. Adding a user is done via the adduser (or useradd) command(s) useradd someuser -m -G agroup -s /bin/bash This will create a user called someuser and add them to the group agroup. I believe Mandrake puts each user in it's own group (user joe is in group joe) Hope this helps

the /root directory is the home for root it can only be accessed by the root account
to create users use the useradd command
man useradd for more information
