Is the production of output.pdf limited to 12 items in printing Help pages for ready reference in Ubuntu 14.04 ?

After running Ubuntu for 3 years the computer is showing signs of severe congestion and needs maintenance. I want to print out the relevant pages from Help but at one of the updates since 12.04 the printer was disabled, hence the need to print-to-file and use another system. Each new output.pdf was renamed, but print-to-file after the 12th selection was not completed. Workarounds are time-consuming. Perhaps this obstacle is another sign of the poor state of the computer's file system. Ubuntu 14.04, completely updated, on a Biostar H61MGV3 motherboard and Toshiba harddrive are in use with no specific error messages.
