Smile Is the most recent Ubuntu version compatible with Parallels 7?

I've been out of the Linux loop for a year or so, and the last time I tried to upgrade my Ubuntu in Parallels 6 on Mac OS 10.6, it crashed and I could never recover it. So time to try again, what version of Ubuntu will install and run well on Parallels 7 on the Mac? Or is there a more popular user friendly Linux distro now that has escaped my notice?

Thanks in advance.

The most recent version of Ubuntu is not compatible with parallels 7. There are some of the displays problem, network functionality problems, parallels tools installation problems, and sometimes it hangs also..
