IS LINUX for ME ,

first topic is , i will be using CAD appz and Matlab , ie Engineering programs , i wanna know if linux is for me for that choice

Second: i want to compose music and edit it and so on , i know Mac is the best in that , but the price is so high here in egypt for Mac ,

so in this multimedia topic which is better linux vs windows and if linux , which distro

thanks but i want real comparison , can Linux be a real opponent against Mac in multimedia,
