is it possible to use 4th Gen iPod touch on LMDE

I am curious if indeed I will be able to use the iPod touch 4th gen with LMDE as I really do not wish to revert to windoze just for this ...I recently removed EVERY M$ OS from our house But now I am getting an iPod touch and I have searched google for an answer to no avail please help in simple terms as well Thank you in advance.BTW I have only been using Linux for about 8 months and computers for about 4 years altogether.

By the way Clem and crew YOU GUYS ROCK BIG TIME !!!!

I purchased Ipod Nano 4th Gen 2 years back and I used it with GtkPod. It is similar to iTunes software:
So IMO your question should be on the software with which you'll be accessing the Ipod rather than the distribution because your Ipod will be plugged in your laptop as a USB device so if your distro reads any USB device, it will read Ipod too but you won't be able to do anything meaningful with it till you have something equivalent to iTunes.

and secondly if you are keen on using iTunes you might like to checkout:

Why are you getting an iPod right after switching to Linux? That doesn't seem smart.

it is a gift from a relative. BTW I haven't just switched to Linux just finally got the last remaining program I needed in Linux to run rather than it's M$ counterpart.

If they haven't bought it yet, why not say that you can't really use it because it's not Linux-compatible?
