Is it possible to mirror the file passwd?

I just buy a new server and would like to copy all the files (with their permissions and ownerships) with
tar -cf -<directory> | ssh user@host tar -xf- -C<target directory>
(saw it in another post) fom the old server to the new one (both are SOLARIS). Before that, I have to get all the users from the old server to the new server. Can I just copy the last lines from the passwd file (the lines with the added users) or is it not that simple?

Thanks for your help.

Shouldn't be a problem, make sure to copy the appropiate shadow file and group file as well.

Thanks. Is there otherwise a more "academic" way to copy a whole server to a new one?
