Is it possible to install KNOPPIX 4.0 live DVD onto HDD instead of booting from disk?
I have recently purchased KNOPPIX 4.0 live DVD edition, as a test for using linux...to see if i wanted to install...and can't figure out if it is possible to install in on a partition of my hard drive as a second operating system (other being MS windows pro) which might i add won't stop crashing (driver clash i'm still trying to figure out).
so it would be a great help if someone could tell me if it is possible to boot it from my partitioned HDD instead of the live disk, and if i can't what would you reccomend i purchase to recieve the best experience from linux.
my system is: (if needed for recommending anything)
3.2Ghz P4 socket 478 CPU
XpertVision ATI Radion X800 Graphics Card
SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS 7.1 sound card
2 x 512Mb GEiL PC3200 DDR400 RAM
ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe Motherboard
1 x 80Gb Maxtor IDE HDD (OS and application)
1 x 200Gb Seagate SATA HDD
Currently running Microsoft windows Pro w/SP2, Wanting Linux on a seperate partition)
I plan to do a clean install of windows soon to remove any problems, and would like to have a version of LINUX (what ever anyone can recommend would be best for the above system and me) as a second OS.
if anyone can help out it would be much appreciated
Cheers
Andrew
