is gnome limited to 800x600

WhenI changed the res to 1024x768 Gnome doesnt display properly, you lose the text on the top bag and the botom bar is in the middle of the screen.

KDE works fine at even higher resolutions.

Any suggestions,

Seems weird that KDE works fine but not Gnome. What graphics card are you using, are the correct drivers installed if required, what X-server, etc.?

The only solution I came up with , was to tell the bars to go to the sides, then back to the top and bottom and then it worked, but it's got to be done everytime I login new with gnome, I think it's a bug.
