[SOLVED] is device-uri of printer mapping to device file

Hi,

I've seen a term "device-uri" in cups. For my connected printer, device file is located at /dev/usb/lp0 but device-uri is usb://OKI%20DATA%20CORP/ML186 who creates device-uri?
if I want to configure printer using API's , how can I know which is the correct device-uri ? where does in configuration I mention, which printer device fie to use ?

cups uses libusb which allows it to communicate with USB devices without the need for kernel mode drivers. In the past one had to blacklist the usblp module or it would conflict with libusb. So cups creates the device URI usb://OKI20DATA%20CORP/ML186.
