Irritating selling method

.. i feel this is nauseating

A friend of mine asked me that he bought ( option 2 ) the following thing in order to install it on his pc. ( saw on a national know internet site )

1. Windows XP Professionnel SP2
Price 399,95 € TTC

2. Windows XP Professionnel SP2 + A mouse
Price 159,95 €

It means you have to keep all your life your mouse for the licence to be valid ?

Can somebody can explain me what is OEM and if this method of sale is authorized in your country ?

I'm furious against micro$oft because they are making money illegally upon ignorance of basic user

Don't ask me why i've choosen linux.

Pierre

PS : Sorry but i didn't know where to post it.
I assume this is like a troll but i think it could be interesting for all to understand what OEM is.

Actually OEM is to be sold together with a computer. Computer=hardware, so selling Windows with OEM-licens together with a mouse is a way to get around Micro$ofts rules...
At least that's what I've heard.

OEM is pretty confusing, because it stands for "Origional E???(equipment, i think) Manufacturer" but it usually means that another company bought a product in bulk for a lower price and they would then stick their lable on it and sell it on. but as for XP OEM, the only thing i can think of is, it might be one those XP disks that come with Dell PC's.
