ipw3945 problems...
Hey all, this is my first post but I'm looking forward to many more. I've learned so much from this forum but have only now found something that I can't find an answer to, so here goes.
system: Fedora Core 7 Dell XPS M1210 intel centrino situation: I did a fresh install of FC7. Then downloaded and installed the driver from ipw3945.sourceforge.net along with the damon and ucode it talks about in the install file. when I try to run the damon, it gives me this message: ERROR: Could not find Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection I also try to run kismet and get this message: FATAL: Support for capture source type 'ipw3945' was not built. so obviously the OS is not recognizing the driver that I installed. (did the 'make' and 'make install' with no problems) it's funny because a few days ago, I did a fresh install of FC7 and did all the steps above with no problems. But now I re-installed and did the same things and all the above happened. I love to learn so if anyone has any solutions as well as explanations, that'd be awesome! Thanks in advance. |
