IPTable configuration

Dear Friends,

I've install fresh copy of CentOS 5.4 now I want to setup firewall using IPTables. I can see that its service is running. Now I want to configure IPtables in a way so that from only trusted/Allowed IP addresses one can SSH the server. Furthermore how to block the ports and release few ports of my choice.

Can any please provide me with some simple article to achieve this as I am new to Linux world.

Any help will greatly be appreciated.

Regards,
Sherazi

Hye,

if you don't have any knowledge on iptables, take a look at firestarter, an easy to use open source GUI for iptables.
Otherwise read the man page and the iptables/firewall howto to understand how it works.

If man page is a bit too much for you then you can look for a howto Here.
