IPCS in linux

Hi to all;

I interpret Semaphores and Shared Memory Allocations
in linux to oracle 10g Database.

PHP Code:

[root@localhost ~]# cd  /proc/sys/kernel
[root@localhost kernel]# cat sem
250     32000   100     128

ipcs -s

PHP Code:

root@localhost ~]# ipcs -ls
------ Semaphore Limits --------
max number of arrays 128
max semaphores per
array = 250
max semaphores system wide
32000
max ops per semop call
100
semaphore max value
32767

128*250 = 32000
what's the logic behind to get 32000.
I red so many links , make me lot of confusions. could anyone clarify my doubt ?

I need some clear details about Semaphores related to oracle database.

The best people to ask would be Oracle tech support....since you're paying for Oracle, give them a call. Aside from what's already out on Oracle's knowledegbase regarding this (you DID check there first, right?), there's little else we can tell you. Oracle can tell you why they're using that figure.

Are you looking for multiplication in command line?
Code:

expr 128 \* 250
