Hi !!

I use RH as a mail relay.

I want to allow incoming smtp and outgoing smtp also outgoing dns and dns replays.what are the rules I need and which file I need to configure?

It depends on your script (probably /etc/init.d/firewall), but usually it requires you to add something like:
ipchains -A INPUT -p tcp --dport smtp -j ACCEPT
ipchains -A INPUT -p tcp --dport domain -j ACCEPT
ipchains -A INPUT -p udp --dport domain -j ACCEPT

ipchains -A OUTPUT -p tcp --sport smtp -j ACCEPT
ipchains -A OUTPUT -p tcp --sport domain -j ACCEPT
ipchains -A OUTPUT -p udp --sport domain -j ACCEPT
