If i dont download alot do i need to worry about ip hider etc

Downloading is not illegal, it's what you're downloading that makes it illegal.

eh, these users always paranoid about their IP privacy while they have no reasons to. i used to sit @ freenode, most users request hostmasks(cloaks as it named there)... i never really understood why. if you really have something interesting on your IP, that makes someone mad about it and he begin to DoS/DDoS it, then, yes, there is a point in it. otherwise it doesn't make sense.
well, in fact, yes, downloading something important from some serious guy's server may result in... something serious it depends anyway
