I've recompiled the kernel on my slackware 9.0 and now when I try to mount the CD-Rom drive or the CD-r drive I got an error, somethin like, Invalid Block Device, my kernel is set in lilo.conf with append="hdc=ide-scsi" and I tried to compile all scsi options relative to this as a module and late in the kernel, nothing works. What can I do?
Hey,
Well are you sure your Cd-Rom hdX. X is your cdrom drive.
Try ls -l /dev/cdrom
It should give where its located with a " --> "
Then all you have to do is change it in your lilo.conf file.
If that fails, try:
mount -t fs_type /dev/device /mount-point
or
mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom
That should mount your CD-Rom. The same should go for CD-R drive if it is just one drive (CD-Rom/CD-R drive)
Make sure you have everything correct in your lilo.conf file. If not sure... you can send me the file through AIM: securehack5 or just put the code in this forum.
thx, but was not this, I finally solved the problem, was only becuse when I intalled the modules, I type modules install and not modules_install so the modules weren´t installed, now everythig is working fine... hehehe...
