Hi, taliano. What Linux distribution, exactly, have you installed? I'm assuming this is on a Chromebook (since you say you have it in parallel with Chrome OS), but is it in a chroot using Crouton, or is this a dual-booting computer?
Provide some more details, maybe we can help.
You might also want to check in over at http://chromeosquestions.org. It's the sister site to this one, so you don't need to create a new login or anything, but poking around there may lead to some answers.

The distribution here matters, there may or may not be a window manager and UI capabilities. Please update us as notKlaatu has suggested.
