Angry interview question ..


Hi everyone,

I would like to know the answer of the question...

"If my kernel is going to panic then what should i do ?"

This question is asked in interview.

I would say that is an incomplete question

and would ask further about the stage where the machine is stucked. Simply asking for kernel panic will not tell the issue.

only after looking at the error or the place where the machine fails to come up one can assume the error and will try to fix accordingly.

Here I believe the interviewer might check your knowledge on startup process of linux.

Going to panic? Surely a kernel panic happens when an unexpected event occurs. If its unexpected how could you know that it was going to happen?
