Internet Sharing can resolve external ip addresses but no access

Right, I wonder if any of you guys could help, I have recently installed rh9 on my system and am trying to get it to act as a router so i can share the internet connection, have added a route at 0.0.0.0 pointing to eth1 (network card that the modem is connected to) and left in the route for the internal network on eth0, have added the ipforward line and used configured iptables to ip masq between the two cards.

On the client machine (windows) if i do a ping to an external address (yahoo.com) the machine can resolve the ipaddress (presumable from named on the rh box) but cannot get a response....

Cheers muchly in advance for any help given

Do you mean that the request timed out on the ping you've run? This is quite normal these days as lots of people are not replying to ping requests because it could be a denial of service attack.
If that's all that's not working, well done - you have a working router

Internet Access

The client machine has no internet access though... just tryed the ping... I know bbc.co.uk allows you to ping their servers, so I don't think it is that, I can't tell whether or not the ip forwarding is working correctly or whether or not iptables is correctly configured... have tryed also a straight ping to our servers ip address at work, and that doesn't have a dos on pinging it.

Any further help would be appreciated
