Question Internet randomly disconnects unless a restart is ensued

Hello again, everyone

I'm running Linux Mint 15 64-bit on a HP sleekbook.

I'm having a bit of a problem with my wireless internet. For some reason at random intervals the wireless internet on my laptop suddenly disconnects and will not connect again to the network unless I restart my computer.
I'm very new to linux so I do not know the technical route to go about with this, but if anyone has experience on this issue, please answer.
Again, any reply would be greatly appreciated, thank you

It is possible to restart the Internet without rebooting. How this is done varies from distribution to distribution and from desktop to desktop. What desktop are you using?

The problem with the disconnects may be on the Internet. What Internet provider are you using and what type of service are you using, cable, dialup, satellite, or what?

I'm very sure this isn't an issue with the internet itself. I have 2 other computers running Windows that connect just fine and never disconnect at random intervals, and the router is working just fine too. It's just my HP-laptop that behaved this way ever since the switch to linux.

Also, I am running Linux Mint KDE version.

This could simply be a NetworkManager issue.

Try checking the syslog and messages for any clues - look for anything network related;

sudo tail -n 50 /var/log/syslog
sudo tail -n 50 /var/log/messages
run the above commands in a terminal

Sean I'm so sorry but I'm a complete newbie at this and have no idea how to identify networking problems among the mass of text in my terminal. What should I do?
