internet connectivity issue - ubuntu 10.10
hello! pls bear with me as i am clueless. i just got connected to the internet this morning - it works fine in windows but in linux the page never loads and the error message appears paraphrased as folllows: "could not find server". any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi stetthat, Welcome to LQ. We'll need a bit more information to help you. What kind of connection are you attempting to make, e.g. dial up modem, dsl modem, wifi, etc.

And if you can output from ifconfig -a and cat /etc/resolv.conf as well. Cannot find server can also mean you have DNS issues.

you know what guys? i got a wireless router and that fixed it. i wish i couldv done something more techie, but it was as simple as router. now i can use my internet in linux.
