....I also have Windows XP Pro on my pc with a broadband connection.

All I want to know is that, how can I use the broadband connection in KNOPPIX???

Please help....

How do you need to connect the PC to your Broadband? Wired or wireless? If your devices are recognized by the KNOPPIX distribution then it may just be setting up the network configurations. If the 'DHCP' doesn't get a IP then you may need to setup the network manually.

How about some hardware specifications? Especially your network devices.

well... I use an ADSL modem, and a login is required to connect. The connection uses the phone line, and the lan is of realtek RTL8139 family PCI ethernet..... whenever I try to obtain an IP from the DHCP, it fails to provide one. My IP is not a stactic one....

....so, how to get an IP and configure the network?

click on K(start), internet, adsl and that will let you configure all the parameters
