Internet Connection Problem

Hi everyboydy.

I have Suse 9.2 installed on my computer and a smartlink softmodem to connect to the internet. After trying for 2 weeks I can finally get my modem to dail in to my internet provider. However I cannot establish a functioning connection. Here the log that I receive when connecting. I have no idea to make this work. The same computer connects in Windows XP without any problems. For safety reasons I edited the: (internet provider's phone number), (internet provider's name), (user name), (internet provider's primary DNS) (internet provider's secondary DNS).

SuSE Meta pppd (smpppd-ifcfg), Version 1.50 on linux.

Lightbulb

Hi everybody,

I found the solution myself by activating " stupid mode " in yast. My connection is working and I am connected to the internet. I will post later the steps needed to make a modem connection with a smartlink modem and the SUSE 9.2 installation. It was a little bit tricky and I know that I am not the only one going thru this.

Martin
