Internet connection on new 12.04 Ubuntu installation

Hello,
Am very new to Ubuntu. Had 11.10 installed on my older MacBook Pro and my newer iMac as a dual boot. I updated to 12.04 on both machines. Works great on the older laptop. The iMac has no internet connection. It sees and recognizes the wireless network, but won't connect. What should I be checking? Appreciate any help. Thanks: johnjbittner
