Internet Connection not present at startup

I have to manually start the internet when i turn on my computer by the following commands:

ifconfig eth0 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx broadcast xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx netmask 255.255.255.0

and

route add default gateway xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

Of course with numbers though. After that all is good, but i have to do it everytime.
Isnt there a way to set it so it does it automatically?
THanks

manually start the interne

Your distro probably has RP adlsl.
You can find out at the terminal by doing a "locate adsl"
At the terminal as root or su, type "adsl-setup"
just fill in the blanks and look for a line that asks if you want to connect at boot.
or after adsl-setup type "adsl-start" to start
and "adsl-stop" to disconnect
and ::adsl-status" to see status
I am not sure what "adsl-connect" does but that is another command for RP adsl

You didnt say what distro you are using but it should have a control panel that
you can also set up you internet connection to connect at boot.
