Internet connection in Fedora 8


Ok I am new to Linux, I have a IBM intellistation Z pro 6221 Xeon 3.06 ghz processor 1 Gig of ram. scsi drives 3com Nic as well as broadcom gighz on board nic. Manually configured the IPs DNS and subnet.
I have installed this like 6 times, Text Graphic etc. I can open a terminal window and can type in a external IP and I also can ping websites IE: fedora, yahoo my mail server etc. but I have no browser or updates. what am I missing?

you should try a 'yum update lynx' or 'yum update mozilla' for a text/graphical browser.

Well I found it Duhhhhh It was firewall settings... we are moving forward now.
