Internet connection

Hi,
I received new CD's for Mandrake 9.1 it solved all of my KDE problems .
I have 2 questions,

1. when I set up the internet it connected, but I could not open any web pages. Now I cant seem to bring up drakeconnect. Is there a way to bring the connection window up with the web brouser and e-mail?

2. I find my scanner in the drop down list but when I install it the form shows no scanner installed.

Did you set up your DNS correctly? sorry, can't help much, never used MDK before

hmm for dsl-connection theres a script

su
<root password>

adsl-start //starts the connection
adsl-stop //stops the connection

what error messages you get?

Hi I am using a just a regular 56K modem connection.
It will dial in, but I must go to the Configuration wizzard and go through detection and all the steps to get a dial up screen then it will only connect once.

Hello,
This comes to you via. Mandrake 9.1.
I chanced /dev/modem to
/tty1 and all is well

Now to sort out the Scanner.
