internet connect icon missing

Hello All:

I'm running RH 7.3 (yikes!) w/ kernel 2.4.18.
I use kde on the desktop, and after I connect to the internet I don't see the icon on the taskbar that tells me that I'm connected. How do I find it? It's not the kppp dial-up tool button. It's the button (icon) that is:
rectangular, has two little circles w/in the rectangle that flash green when data is being exchanged and red when there's nothing happening (no data exchange) but you are still connected.
I'd like to find it and put it back on my taskbar.

Looking forward to relevant replies.
