internet browsing problem
Hi everyone,
I am having strange problems at the moment. I can visit some sites using the root account, but not all. I also can access some sites with a test account but not all. I don't know why this is happening as this is a new RH9 installation. Are there any particular groups a user has to be in to get full internet access? And is there a way to give a user account root rights?
Any help would be great.

You don't say if you are on a network (business maybe). It might be something like a proxy or firewall, etc... You didn't say if you could access the same sights from both accounts or not access the same sights. Are they the same?
Yes it is sorta possible to give a user root access; by using the sudo command. I have not used it but I believe that it does require a small amount of configuration (to say what that particular user can do). If there is anything else, I am not sure. But I believe that there is alot of info on how to do that (especially at this sight). try those things out and repost.
