Internet Browsers for Linux
Hello again. I tried another modem and I'm finally able to connect to the internet from Linux!!! (even though Windows won't detect it and it only runs at 14.4, its a start!).
Since I do have a slow computer all around, I am wondering what browser you recommend I try. For example, Netscape is like KDE, too many options that I'll never use. What is the internet-brower variation of XFCE? ;) Something that can display graphics and do java and javascript, but not much more :)? Thanks, JMagi |
There are many, many threads on these forums about peoples favourite browsers. Please search.
(Galeon :D) |
My humble apologies for forgetting to do that first. Please delete post if you feel it necessary.

Oh yes, there are numerous "What's your favorite..." threads out there. The forum search surely is a nice thing, use it.
pssst... My, uhm, biased opinion: Opera, if you want a browser that renders the pages really fast, Galeon if you want a nice, simple, yet a feature-rich browser. :D :D |
A week ago (or something like that, I'm losing track of time due to insomnia l0l) ..there was a nice poll with a lot of replies. It had your topic: "which browser to use?" ..maybe if you find ..great wisdom shall be your companion.. ;)

It depends on your PC power.
For that 14.4kbps, I'd rather see only text. lynx |
